On May 23, the Ministry of environmental protection held a regular press conference in May to introduce the development plan of China's environmental protection standard during the 13th five year plan.

Zou Shoumin, director of the Department of science and technology standards of the Ministry of environmental protection, said that up to now, China has issued 2038 national environmental protection standards, including 1753 current standards, and 167 current mandatory local environmental protection standards filed according to law. Including the national and local levels, covering five categories of environmental protection standards, including environmental quality standards and pollutant emission control standards, has been formed.

However, there are still some problems in the current work of environmental protection standards, such as the lag in the progress of some standard formulation and revision projects; the coordination between environmental protection standards and emission permits and other new systems needs to be strengthened.

It is understood that during the 13th Five Year Plan period, the Ministry of environmental protection will speed up the preparation and revision of a number of key standards, speed up the introduction of a number of urgently needed environmental quality standards and pollutant emission standards, and effectively support the key work of water, air, soil environmental management and emission permits. Among them, the important environmental quality standards issued include the soil environmental quality standards for agricultural land and construction land, the sea water quality standards, the specifications for the evaluation of the ecological environment quality of the nearshore sea area, the air quality evaluation guidelines for passenger cars, the environmental noise standards around the airport, and the environmental vibration standards for urban areas. The emission standards of important pollutants issued include the emission standards of fixed source pollutants such as pesticides, electronics, painting, paint coating, dyes, etc., and the mobile source standards such as the sixth national standard for light and heavy vehicles, the fourth national standard for marine engines, motorcycles and mopeds.
